During the summer, the Town Center Splash Pad is a great place for the whole family to cool off. Community events are sponsored year round, including Easter egg hunts, spring clean ups, a pumpkin walk, and Christmas Crafts Day with Santa. This event consists of a baby contest, art show, movie in the park, youth dance, 5k Fun Run, a big parade, BMX stunts, fireworks, and much more.
Most of the recreational programs are offered through the neighboring town of Cedar Hills. They offer a wide variety of activities, such as karate, basketball, baseball, skiing, volleyball, T-ball, lacrosse, flag football, and more. Highland also has its own fishing program for residents.
